Clackmannanshire’s largest industries are agriculture, mining and brewing
Alloa is the largest town in Clackmannanshire with a population of just under 20,000, and lies on the banks of River Forth 6 miles from Stirling. Alloa has always been important in terms of the transport of goods made in Scotland to be exported, however coal mining was also a main employer. Since the completion of the Kincardine Bridge, which meant there was less need for sea transport, the main industries have also numbered fishing, brewing and service industries. |
