Bedfordshire’s most famous resident was writer John Bunyan who wrote one of the most enduring books in the English language The Pilgrims Progress which has been translated into most languages across the world. Bunyan was imprisoned in Bedfordshire County Gaol where he composed this allegorical masterpiece which has had an appeal to old and young alike since 1678. |
